This painting is part of the artist's large-scale series dedicated to the experience of emigration, adaptation, and finding oneself in a new environment. Here, the theme of transition is presented through a complex and very beautiful metaphor. The artist creates the illusion of a rough wooden frame with uneven edges on the canvas—it is a true portal, a boundary between the familiar and the unknown. The main character has frozen on the threshold: ears listening to every rustle, gaze watchful, but without panic—only utter concentration. Before him blossoms the bright, lush flora of a new world (monstera leaves and vibrant orange flowers), which strikingly contrasts with the soft, enveloping haze of the background.
